Typically, such pockets are sewn on models made of light, denim and on products from other fabrics without lining.
Patch pockets along all sections are cut with allowances for seams. Along the entrance to the pocket on the pattern are given wider allowances, they are called TURNING. On large pockets, a thin pad is ironed on this hem.Slices of pockets circle around. The allowance, or the edge at the entrance to the pocket, is ironed to the wrong side. The edge is ironed or trimmed. Then allowances on all other sections are swept to the wrong side and the edges are ironed.
On pockets with rounded corners, it is much easier to iron allowances on the wrong side with the following technique: sew over all rounds with long stitches close to the cut. From a dense, but thin cardboard, cut out a template in the shape of a pocket. Glue the template, combining its edges with the seam lines, on the wrong side of the pocket. Pull the bottom thread of the stitch with long stitches until the seam allowances lie flat on the pattern. Spread the excess length evenly. Iron allowances.
If a wide groove is provided at the entrance to the pocket, the lateral edges of the pockets are cleaned through narrow sections of the groove. To do this, wrap the grinder on the front side and stitch the side slices of the grinder on a pocket. Corner allowances cut diagonally.Wrap the hem on the wrong side, sweep the edges, then sweep the remaining sections of the pocket onto the wrong side. Iron the edges.
Stitch pockets: stick the finished pocket onto the product, sew it and then either sew it by hand with hidden stitches or sew it on the sewing machine. So that the corners at the entrances do not tear, they are duplicated manually with several stitches or fixed on the machine, making a line in the shape of a small triangle.
Tip: very large pockets will not wrinkle and will keep their shape well if they are completely duplicated from the wrong side by a non-woven fabric (for example G 405) or a thin volume non-woven woven-woven fabric (for example H 630).
