Our tips will help you to carefully sew the elastic tape to the open cut of a knitwear or any other fabric.

How to sew openwork elastic tape

Step 1

Use tailor pins to pin the elastic tape exactly along the edge of the open cut from the front of the product.

Step 2

Stitch the elastic tape along the bottom edge with a zigzag stitch, while making sure that the line does not go on the scalloped edge, and the product section and the upper edge of the elastic tape do not move relative to each other. Stitch length 2 mm, width 3 mm.

Step 3

Gently cut the excess fabric as close to the stitch as possible.

Step 4

Unscrew the openwork elastic tape on the wrong side and sew a zigzag stitch with a stitch length of 1 mm and a width of 4 mm.
