There are different ways to stitch a zipper. The specific option depends on the fabric, model, place of embedding, on the effect that should eventually result, for example, decorative and the type of zipper.
Sewing a zipper into the side seam is not difficult, especially if the product does not have any complex lines of cut and additional parts.

Today we will look at how to sew a hidden zipper into the side seam of a short skirt with a pocket with a detachable barrel.

Step 1
Make pockets with a cutting barrel, as described in the instructions.
Step 2. Side seams / incision in the side seam
Place the rear halves of the short skirt on the front halves with the front side to the front side, chop off the side sections (reference mark 3). Fill right side seam from top to bottom. Run the left side seam from the bottom, not reaching approx. 10 cm to the cut mark for a hidden zipper (arrow).At the beginning and at the end of the stitching, sew. Overlap seam allowances and allowances at the edges of the cut. Iron the seam allowances.
How to sew secret zippers
Step 3. Concealed zipper
Unlock secret zipper. Pin one zipper tape with the top side down along one edge of the cut at a distance of 5 mm from the edge. Combine the upper teeth of the hidden zipper with the marked line of the upper edge. Stitch the zipper with the special foot of the sewing machine (which untwists the teeth) to the cut mark. To sew another braid of a secret zipper in the same way along the other edge of the cut. Fasten at the beginning and at the end of the seams. Sew vertical loops from the marked up.
Step 4. Finish Left Side Seam
Close the hidden zipper. Fold the left front half of the short skirt with the rear half of the front sides. Stitch open left side sections close to the last stitches of the seams for attaching a hidden zipper.
