Folds - a decorative element with which you can change the shape of the product and its individual parts. For example, to lay folds to add volume to the sleeves or to beautifully drape the bodice of the dress.
The highlight of a simple knitted pullover from Burda 9/2018 are sleeves of an interesting shape, which turned out precisely due to the laid down one-sided folds. To properly make folds, you must follow a certain sequence of actions.

Step 1. Markup
Fold the lines on the sleeves to the wrong side of the cut using a gear wheel and carbon paper or a water-soluble marker or tailor's chalk.
Arrows mark the direction of the folds.
How to make bow folds
Step 2
Transfer the lines of the folds of the sleeves to the front side with large crochet stitches.
Step 3
On the sleeves on the front side, lay the folds in the direction of the arrow marks, while aligning the fold lines (basting).
Step 4
Folds are pinned and sweep along the cuts on the allowances.

Important!
Before stitching folds, sweeping and sewing parts, be sure to measure the product. Perhaps this direction of the folds and their depth will not suit you, and you want to change them. Make all the necessary adjustments to the details of the pattern at the fitting stage.
