If your man likes to cook, you can sew him your own apron, and give, for example, on February 14 or 23 - or just like that, for no reason.
In fact, this apron can be said to be unisex: it will suit the fair sex too. But it will be fit for a man: the apron is quite long and wide. He has a simple concise cut. And large pockets, in addition to their direct purpose, create an additional layer that protects clothing during cooking.
For an apron, cotton or linen fabric is suitable.
Donut-shaped apron with a pocket: workshop
You will need:
- fabric (for this apron 90 cm is enough with a width of 140-150 cm);
- paper, pencil, paper scissors - for patterns;
- scissors for fabric;
- tailor pins;
- a stick for eversion;
- iron and ironing board;
- sewing machine and thread.
Apron with a wide belt without a pattern: a master class
Step 1
Make a pattern, focusing on the dimensions in the diagram. This apron is quite wide and long, if desired, you can reduce the pattern.
Allowances:
- for the top edge of the apron - 4 cm,
- for the upper edge of the pocket - 2.5−3 cm,
- other allowances - 1.5−2 cm.
Shoulder strap: 55x9 cm without allowances, 2 ties: 65x6 cm without allowances each.
On the main part of the apron, transfer marks indicating the places where the pockets are sewn.
Step 2
Cut out the details: 1 part of the apron, 2 parts of the pocket, 1 part of the strap, 2 details of the ties.
Step 3
Let's take care of the pockets first. Turn the upper edge of each pocket detail to the wrong side and iron it by 0.5 cm, then by 1.5 cm.
Stitch the gates, stepping back from the folds of 1-2 mm.
The remaining edges of the details of the pockets must be tucked in once and ironed. To make it easier to iron the rounded sections, lay stitches on them with a long stitch at a distance of 0.5 cm from the edge and pull the thread a little. It is convenient to put a paper template under the allowance (you can use the paper pattern of the pocket), pull the threads and iron the allowances according to the template.
Cut ironed-in allowances to 0.5 cm.
On the main part, find places for pockets, focusing on the tags.
In the middle, one pocket should overlap another by 0.5 cm.
Pin the pockets to the main part.
Stitch the pockets with two lines, one - 1 mm from the edge, the second - 7 mm from the edge. So the allowances will remain inside the seam.
So the pocket will look inside:
Step 4
Fold the details of the straps and ties in half along the side inward and pin them together.
Stitch the part of the strap on the long side, backing 0.5 cm from the edge.
Stitch the details of the ties along the long and one of the short sides, backing 0.5 cm from the edge.
Iron the seams.
At the ties, cut the corners, backing 2 mm from the seam.
Using a wand, twist the strap and ties.
Strap and ties straighten and iron.
Step 5
Turn all the allowances of the main part of the apron, except for the upper allowance, onto the wrong side and iron it by 0.5 cm, then 0.8-1 cm.
Lock with pins.
Stitch up the back and forth 1 mm from the fold. Strengthen the corners as shown in the photo.
Step 6
Only the top edge of the apron remained unprocessed. Tuck it and iron it 1 cm, then 3 cm.
Under the gateway, attach the ends of the straps as shown in the photo.
Lock with pins.
Lay the horizontal stitch, securing the collar and stitching the strap under it. Turn the strap up.
Now fasten the strap with a line in the shape of the letter "G", starting from the point indicated by the scissors in the photo, and moving left and down to the width of the strap. Sew off the face of the apron. For strength, sew along the same line twice.
Step 7
It remains to sew the strings. Turn the open end of the tie 1 cm, as shown in the photo.
Sew a tie to the corner of the apron, securing it crosswise with a seam. Repeat with the second tie. Done!
