A completely special part of women's clothing, a sign and a means of magical "Cinderella" transformation - a skirt

Today, many women, alas, wear pants. And not at all because once, back in the first half of the twentieth century, an incomparable Marlene Dietrich demonstrated to the fashionable world how seductive and mysterious a woman in a man’s suit can be. The main reason that the pants took root in the women's wardrobe is that they are comfortable!
But what about after a cold and slushy winter, with the first sun irresistibly pulling into the store "for a skirt." And better - two or three. A long skirt immediately turns you into a mysterious and romantic woman, as if from a Russian classic. In a skirt just below the knee you look stylish, noble and expensive, as taught Gabrielle Chanel. And the miniskirt will come in handy, because you need to at least sometimes "walk" the beautiful legs.

From loincloth to skirt
Previously, it did not occur to people to divide clothes into male and female. The loincloth of both sexes resembled a modern miniskirt. The development of etiquette has made a change to this convenient system. Young men of ancient civilizations continued to wear a short skirt, revered and older - more authentic. Women's clothing has become much more closed. And ladies with her help have already emphasized the importance of their person.
In the Middle Ages, a skirt meant a knee-length robe gathered at the throat, usually belted. Then she split into a bodice and the skirt itself. Then it all started ...
In the 15th century, trains became fashionable, which the church immediately declared “devil tails” and refused to absolve the ladies who dared to wear them. The fashion for trains lasted for almost two centuries.
When the leadership in fashion passed to Spain, the main thing in the skirt was its width: the wider the skirt, the more noble her mistress. Tournaments and crinolines
In an effort to outdo each other, fashionistas went so far that soon their skirts became completely unbearable. And then they came up with a frame of hoops holding this structure. They did not put on a skirt, but “entered” it, having previously installed it on the floor. And only then they fastened the skirt to the corset.
A century later, emotional French women took over fashion. They did not like to carry such burdens on themselves, but they wanted to show their legs and seductively rustling lower skirts, the number of which sometimes reached a dozen. Later, the rustling that accompanied every step of the woman was replaced by other noise effects: the dome skirt, swaying when walking, returned to fashion, and the numerous metal and wooden planks of the frame, knocking on each other, did not let the fashionista go unnoticed. To expand and raise the sides of the skirt, they came up with a special frame made of whalebone - tansy. Due to the immense width of the skirts, women could hardly move, the inventive folding frame did not help either.
In the XVIII century, toilets first began to be divided into daytime and evening, ladies again pulled themselves into a corset, and come up with skirts crinoline (the bell of the skirt was held by a linen cover braided by horsehair). He conquered the hearts of all fashionistas: both rich and poor. Crinolines put on secular ladies and all who sought to imitate them. Over time, they were replaced bustle - a device in the form of a cotton pad to form a special silhouette of a woman's dress. He was put to the back of the skirt at the waist, which caused the back line to become ridiculously protruding (in our opinion). Then, on the contrary, women in a similar outfit seemed gracefully curved.
In the years 1910-1914, the "lame" skirt was fashionable - long and so narrowed at the ankle that women limped while walking. Fashion does not stand still
Years passed, requirements for the convenience and functionality of women's costumes grew, and ideas about elegance and beauty changed. With the onset of the twentieth century, the hem was picked up, and the frame and all kinds of linings were ruthlessly removed. As a result, the skirts no longer fettered movements and allowed ladies to feel comfortable in any situation.
Couturier Paul Poiret made a revolution - opened his elegant foot. Gabriel Chanel goes further - her skirts are elegant in length, only cover her knees. The next spurt in the evolution of the length of the skirt made Mary quant and at once bared all the female legs of the world. Fashionistas enthusiastically accepted miniskirts, and the Vatican publicly condemned them. President of the U.S.A Richard Nixon declared the Government House a "mini-free zone."
Opal was removed only thanks Jacqueline Kennedy. For Americans, she was the epitome of good taste, style and excellent manners. Everyone was tirelessly discussing how elegantly her suits with a straight or slightly expanding skirt look downward, sheath dresses and sleeveless dresses, skirts just above or slightly below the knee.
Even Queen of England Elizabeth II shortened her skirts and handed Mary quant Order of the British Empire for Special Economic Merit.
Fashion trends
This season everything is relevant: mini skirts, midi, maxi, tulip, pencil, in a gypsy style, with slots and frills. The most fashionable are long skirts: vintage, cowboy, lace. Skirts of medium length, especially in pleated or flared skirts, are also in the focus of attention, and business fashion is still not complete without a pencil skirt.
A place of honor is occupied by wrap-around skirts - they will perfectly fit into both business and romantic styles. Super-relevant material - soft and elastic genuine leather. Pleated fabric is also in the trends of the season. And, attention, bright colors - blue, red, coral - will attract all your eyes!
No other outfit will allow so elegantly demonstrate the long slender legs, graceful waist, textured hips, like a skirt. Well, if you wear a short top to the skirt, then you can show a tanned tummy.
